What CAD is and what it's for
CAD (computer-aided design) is the software used to create 3D models of parts and assemblies and to produce the technical drawings the shop floor, machining or supplier needs to manufacture them.
A well-built model lets you test fit, calculate materials and generate parts lists before spending on prototypes or tooling.

Reverse engineering: when it's worth it
Reverse engineering means recreating the model of a part that exists but has no drawing. It's common with old equipment, imported parts with no replacement, or when the original supplier no longer serves you.
With the part in hand, we measure it, build the 3D model and the technical drawing, and you get the documentation to remanufacture or even improve the part.
